Elevator Hall and Garage Walkways in Basement
One of the first projects the new Board started in the Spring of 2019 was to have an epoxy floor coating installed in the basement hallways around the elevators and the garage walkways. The floors had layer after layer of paint accumulated from 45 years. The layers were ground down to bare concrete before a system of 3 layers of 100% epoxy seal/coat and 1 layer of broadcast colored flakes were applied. This provides a high wear system for a durable, seamless, low maintenance and decorative finish.
Once our elevator modernization work was completed in early spring of 2021 the Board arranged for the deep cleaning and painting of all the basement elevator hallway walls. Layers of paint from over 45 years were sanded and cleaned before a high-traffic type commercial Benjamin Moore paint was applied. Old bulletin boards were removed and our new digital messaging TV was installed on the wall between the passenger and freight elevators. A new hand sanitizing station was installed in a convenient location next to the passenger elevator.
